After many, many submissions from students, parents and community members, our TSLT has finally settled on our new school nickname...
From this point on, we will be known as the Tay Shores Titans!!
Our school colours will reflect the colours found in the First Nations medicine wheel (white, yellow, red, black).
In choosing our colours and nickname, our students were inspired by the local native legend of Kitchikiwana, who was huge in size, strength and importance (the definition of a titan).
Our first sports event was held today. We had close to 100 students attend the Area 1 Cross Country Run at Little Lake Park in Midland, ON. This was our first opportunity to cheer on our Titans.
Hopefully, soon, we will be able to come up with some athletic wear for our sports teams that has our nickname and colours. Once that happens, we will really feel like a brand new team!!
